How can I enter News Groups ? |
|
In Main Menu select the
newsgroup you wish to enter and Click Enter.
*If you 're working online ,program will ask
you whether you want to connect to selected server or not.
** You can get online at anytime in Listing
Mode
*** If you 're going online first time to
enter a group, it may take a time to connect a group.
**** If you 're switching between
different server's groups it may take a time to connect a
group.
***** It may take a short time to enter a
group which has many articles downloaded.

How can I display articles in News
Groups? |
|
In Main Menu select the newsgroup you wish to
enter and Click Enter.
You'll see articles in group. If you've
recently subscribed to a group ,you can download article
headers by selecting
Menu -> Get Headers -> 100 at a time
or which amount you like.
*It may take a short time to enter a group
which has many articles downloaded.

does "Change Group" do ? |
|
To switch between groups you can use
Change Group command. * If you
're going online first time to enter a group it may take a
time to connect a group.

group.

What does
"Auto Connect" mean ? |
|
In Listing Mode ,if you 're disconnected by
a server while reading articles online - if "Auto
Connect" option is checked , program will connect
automatically to selected server and download the article
otherwise it'll ask for your confirmation to connect a server.

How does NewsliteSp Display Conversations? |
|
Articles are sorted by Date. In a conversation,
article with recent date will be displayed last.
To maximize screen view ,NewsliteSp displays
conversations within 2 depths in a row.
E.g.
+ First Conversation
+ Last Conversation
E.g.
- First Article Date :
1-1-2006
- Second Article
Date : 1-6-2006
Article header downloaded but article
body hasn't been downloaded.
Both Article header and body have been downloaded.
Article is marked for Watch.

To maximize viewing size NewsLiteSp displays
conversations only with 2 depths (follow-ups)
Other messages will follow the first reply
in first-last date order .

How can I download
articles for a Group ? |
|
To download articles, use
Menu -> Get Headers -> 100 at a time
or whatever you like.
*NewsliteSp will download selected number
of article headers.

What's a header? |
|
Header or an article header consists of size
,topic ,sender ,date, sender ip ,etc info for an article.
NewsLiteSp, first downloads headers and if
requested, would download complete article to save space
and bandwidth traffic.

Why can't I get
headers? |
|
* Ensure that you 've a connection.
** Ensure that newsgroup has articles.
|
|
What's the
maximum Size for an article to be downloaded? |
|
Maximum size for
an article is 60 kb.
|
|
How can I view
an Article?
|
|
To view an article ,select the article
you wish to view and click Read.
If article is downloads ,it 'll be
viewed from database otherwise program will try to download
the article.
* If "Auto Connect" mode is on, NewsliteSp
will automatically connect to selected group and fetch the
requested article otherwise it'll ask for your confirmation.

I can't
view an article? |
|
Make sure that you're connected ,some
servers keep article headers but it may be removed from
server.
|

How can I
change the encoding for an article? |
|
You can change encoding for displaying an
article from
Menu -> Message Encoding -> Desired
Encoding type .
After you select a different encoding
used for viewing an article you have to open the article
again.
*If you still can't see correct
characters try changing the encoding type for Server from News
Server -> Edit Settings and download headers again. |

Why can't I see
articles in correct characters? |
|
Some character encodings may not be
supported by your system. Since your device may not have
necessary fonts to display the article ,you may see different
characters. If you're sure your system supports the language
encoding try changing the encoding of message by Message
Encoding command.
After you select a different encoding
used for viewing an article you have to open the article again.
*If you still can't see correct
characters try changing the encoding type for Server from News
Server -> Edit Settings and download headers again. |

How many articles can
NewsliteSp store? |
|
NewsliteSp v1.0 can store up to 500 messages in
its database. |

What does "Message
Info" mean ? |
|
Message Info
displays information about article's size, sent date ,sender
,id and other properties.

What does "Group
Info" mean ? |
|
Group Info displays news group's
properties. |
|
What does
"Clipboard Info" mean ? |
|
Clipboard Info displays contents of clipboard (that
have been copied).
 |

What does "Group
Used Space" mean ? |
|
Group Used Space displays amount of size occupied
by news group's database. |
|
What does "Copy"
do ? |
|
Copy command copies selected text to
clipboard.
|
|
What does "Paste"
do ? |
|
Paste command pastes clipboard
contents to selected field.
|
|
What does
"Collapse" do ? |
|
Collapse command is used to
"collapse" view all articles in a conversation.

What does "Expand"
do ? |
|
Expand command is used to "expand"
view all articles in a conversation.
|

What does "Move to
First" do ? |
|
Move to First command selects
the first article in the news group. |
|
What does "Move to
Last" do ? |
|
Move to Last command
selects the last article in the news group. |
|
What does "Clear Clipboard" do ? |
|
Clear Clipboard command clears
contents of clipboard. |
