Tips and Useful Info

INFO - Running first Time : It may take a short amount of time when you first run NewsliteSp since it will create necessary files and will optimize them.

Mobility and  Reliability

Tip : Download headers when you're connected via high speed connection and get bodies when you're connected with mobile connections. This way you can prevent any corrupt data when receiving huge amounts of data. E.g.. Getting headers of 200 or more via Gprs may be unreliable.

Tip : Use Select command to select any file or directory when you're importing ,exporting ,saving.Use Enter command to enter any directory and see its contents.

Tip : Use Numpad to perform actions on Listing View Menu.

 Tip : If you don't want program to connect automatically to a server on each disconnection ,check - Auto Connect OFF.

Tip : Use Mark as Watched to remember important articles or articles that you've replayed.

Tip : Switch To Editing View for wider view of an article by clicking Fire button.

Tip : Erase any attached file by clearing text.

   Tip : Use Save command to save any message you're composing that wish to send later.

Tip : Create your  own favorite News Groups List.

To subscribe Groups ,you can either download group list from server or import from a file.

*NewsliteSp downloads first 5000 groups on the server.

*File can be a list exported before ,which includes subscribed groups.

Or you can create your own Favorite List;

Simply create a txt file ;

Menu -> Group List -> Get From Server

NewsLiteSp will connect to selected server and download list of  newsgroups on the server.

You can cancel downloading of groups at any time by clicking over Click to Cancel Box .

*NewsliteSp downloads first 5000 groups on the server.

*You can manually add groups. See above.

Menu -> Group List -> Import

Select the file and group list will be listed.

Tip : Use Export Command to save valuable articles when you will delete old articles.

INFO - Entering a Group : It may take a short amount of time to enter groups that have huge amount of articles downloaded.

*It may take a short time to enter a group which has many articles downloaded.

*If you 're working online ,program will ask you if you want to connect to selected server.

** You can get online at anytime in Listing Mode

*** If you 're going online first time to enter a group, it may take a time to connect a group.

**** If you 're switching between  different server's groups it may take a time to connect a group.

***** It may take a short time to enter a group which has many articles downloaded.

Tip : Use Arrow Keys on Newsgroup - Find Dialog to select Groups and make a search. To list all groups enter * or leave blank and click Find or Fire button.

Tip : How can I register / activate program ?

To register /activate program ;

Enter

Menu -> Program -> Activation

Fill in Name, Email, Order ID / Purchase ID  fields.

Click Activate and program will connect to our servers and complete activation ,your copy of NewsliteSp will become fully functional after successful verification.

If you choose not to activate program online ,you'll need to send your Activation Key  to reqkey@pocketcafe.com to get your serial key for program.

Tip :View correct characters in a message

Some character encodings may not be supported by your system. Since your device may not have necessary fonts to display the article ,you may see different characters. If you're sure your system supports the language encoding try changing the encoding of message by Message Encoding command.

After you select a different encoding  used for viewing an article you have to open the article again.

*If you still can't see correct characters try changing the encoding type for Server from News Server -> Edit Settings and download headers again.

Tip :Change  encoding for a message?

You can change encoding for displaying an article from

Menu -> Message Encoding -> Desired Encoding type .

Tip : Delete old Messages

Delete command deletes articles from news group ,since a group has a certain limit of articles to be stored in database you need to delete articles time to time .

You may use Export command to save / export messages that are important.

*NewsLiteSp will delete selected number of  articles starting from  early date to recent date.

Tip : Select number of articles you wish to be deleted from Group ,if you want to delete All ,choose All.

Articles will be deleted from older to newer in order.

Tip :If a Server has more than 5000 groups - add Newsgroups Manually

When a news server has more than 5000 groups ,NewsliteSp would download firs 5000 groups.

You can add any specific group by Newsgroups -> Add Manually.

Tip : Make a signature text file and add a text / signature to message ?

Simply make a text file with your signature and add it as a text when you're composing a message.

Click Browse Button when composing a message and choose file you wish to paste contents to.
